My why →Michael Koch
Founder of Fortal, Gallup Certified Strengths CoachI founded Fortal to see how teams, couples, and individuals work better when they build on what comes to them naturally. Not on what they "should" do, but on what they already carry inside.
My background is firmly in business practice. I have served on the boards of companies (Taste, Use Your Talents) and on the supervisory board of Pražská energetika. I have led teams, worked with clients from major Czech companies, and under the Use Your Talents banner I also handled the certification of new coaches. Dozens of them passed through my hands.
I believe that in the age of AI, one of a person's greatest competitive advantages is understanding themselves. A focus on strengths is not a nice to have, but a practical way to stay good at what you do over the long run.
Alongside my work as a coach and trainer, I moderate interviews and panel discussions. What I enjoy most is helping people with performance: bringing talents into concrete situations, whether it is leading a team, running a meeting, or speaking in front of an audience. I care about the substance and about making things make sense in everyday life. And if we have some fun along the way? A pleasant bonus.
I am a husband and a father of three. I love good food, coffee, and going to church. And I actually enjoy watching how similar principles work in family, in relationships, and in business.

My why
I see a world where AI will be better at almost everything. All the more reason to know what I am good at.
At the same time I see how poorly we value ourselves. So many capable people around us doubt themselves or don't know how to use their strengths.
I work with managers who want to lead well but often do not know how. And with people who have great potential but cannot put a name to it.
For me personally it was an enormous source of energy. Understanding where to put it, how not to waste it and how to live off it long term.
