Talent mentoring for pairs

Most conflicts in pairs are not about bad will. They come from two people having different natural patterns, and each attributing intent to the other where it is only a different talent. This holds for romantic couples and purely working pairs alike.

For whom

Two variants. One approach

The method is the same. The context, dynamics, and specifics of each pair differ.

Variant A

Couples

Partners who live together and at the same time run a business or work together. Professional disagreements come home, personal dynamics reach into decision-making. Without naming the talents it looks like a personal attack, even when it is only a different approach to work.

  • Partners who co-founded a company
  • Spouses in a family business
  • A boyfriend / girlfriend as a direct manager or subordinate

Important: This is not couples therapy. We focus solely on the working dynamic, not on the personal side of the relationship.

Variant B

Working pairs

Two people carrying shared responsibility for the results of a company or team. Without a personal relationship. Natural differences in the talent profile create friction points that, unnamed, look like unwillingness or incompetence.

Co-founders

Different approaches to risk, vision, and decision-making

Parent and child in the firm

Handing over the firm or everyday collaboration

Manager and deputy

Natural conflict of roles and approach to the team

Siblings in business

Family dynamics in a professional context

The process

How mentoring for pairs works

The procedure is the same for both variants. The specific questions and situations we focus on differ.

01

Both have CliftonStrengths 34

The prerequisite is that both members of the pair have completed the assessment and the order of all 34 talents. The coach prepares a comparative analysis of both profiles and identifies the key friction points.

02

Joint sessions

Sessions always take place with both of you. We name the natural differences, identify complementarities, and define concrete communication and decision-making agreements.

03

Working with real situations

Every session starts from concrete situations the pair has experienced. The goal is not theory, but a change in the everyday patterns of interaction that cause tension.

Results

  • A follow-up program after the sessions: tips on your talents as a pair, so they keep working for you

It's amazing how, through his own talents, he can grasp a client's situation and problems as if he'd known them for years. And then motivate you toward the next steps with the Name it, Aim it, and Claim it approach. I warmly recommend him to anyone who wants to grow.
